• What are your qualifications? Have you been professionally trained or certified?
  Yes. Back in the early 1970's I workd for a photography studio directly with the owner/photographer who was also an instructor at one of the best photography schools in Philidelphia, PA. Those years of instruction and our 40 years experience from New Jersey to Florida has given us the training to do the best possible job for you.
• What packages do you offer? What are your rates?
  We have lowered our rates due to the economy. Current wedding prices range from $500.00 to about $5000.00 We have 6 custome packages. We proudly offer much more than most for the money in our packages. Please view our packages on our website for details. Each package is customizable and we can also help you build a totally customizable pacakge as well.
• Do you require a deposit?
  Yes. Previously our deposit was 1/2 down and final 1/2 balance due prior to shoot date. We have again lowered our deposit to $250.00 or 20% which ever is greater on the package of your choice. Balance must be paid before shoot date.
• How many pictures do you take?
  Depending on amount of hours we are hired for, it can range from a few hundred to over a thousand.
• Can I keep the negatives?
  We no longer shoot on film, but have gone completely digital so there are no negatives. We own the rights to all images we shoot but can purchase a CD or DVD with high resolution images and a licence to print all the images you want for personal use only, not to sell or market.
• How many weddings have you photographed?
  Over the years we have shot hundreds. With changes in style and format we currently exibit only recent weddings on our website.
• What is your photographic style?
  We are primarily photojouranalistic photographers. However we do mix standard and posed images into wedding package to create the perfect memories you will cherrish for a lifetime.
• Do you provide black and white photography?
  Yes. We will mix black and white with color as a rule. If it is your preference to have more black and white, just let us know when we sign the contract. We are working for you.
• Do you use digital or film?
  Digital
• Can I see examples of your work?
  Yes. We can show you samples when we meet to discuss your wedding needs. Also we invite you to view samples on our website: www.VanSciverPhotography.com as we have 1000's of images posted in many catagories.
• How far are you willing to travel?
  Travel is not a concern with us. We generally cover all of Virginia, but can and will travel to other states and under special conditions out of the country.
• How quickly will I receive my prints?
  We specify in our contract to allow 90 days for all your wedding prints. However the usual wait time has been between 30 to 60 days. Our Post-event processing is where the real magic takes place. Any corrections needed are made and then composits, and other art work is applied so the final package is as unique as you are. Each wedding is different.
• What makes you different from other photographers?
  Our experience, flair, style and the emotion we put into each photo will be seen and felt you recieve your pictures. Also you will note that our packages provide much more for your money as you will see when comparing to other photographers
