Frequently Asked Questions |
Q. |
Do you have a customer satisfaction or refund policy? |
We guarantee to match or beat your current advisor's fees by 25% or more! |
Q. |
What are your qualifications? What is your education background? |
First and foremost I truly use my ears before I use my mouth. The most important factor in quality financial planning is to fully understand the goals of the client. For more details on our process, please visit our website at www.myportfolioguide.com |
Q. |
How are you compensated? How will I pay for your services? |
I am solely compensated on a fee basis. All fees are charged in arrears on a quarterly basis and are a percentage of the assets under management. |
Q. |
If you are going to manage my account, will you obtain my permission every time you buy or sell something? |
I have a team that supports me but I am proud to be the main point person and central to the overall relationship. We also have a Pacific Northwest Division which is led and supported by Matt Barton who is based in Portland. We serve clients nationwide but offer a single point of contact so that you are not treated like a number! |
Q. |
How many clients do you currently manage? |
Q. |
Will you be the only person working with me? |
We offer both discretionary and non-discretionary management. Most of our clients are under discretionary management such that we monitor and manage the account on their behalf. We do offer non-discretionary management for those clients who wish to have approval on every portfolio move. |
Q. |
Do you offer any guaranteed results? |
By law nobody in the financial services industry is allowed to "guarantee results" but what I can fully assure you is that "apples to apples" you will not find a single advisor that has a better combination of ethics, portfolio management & expertise, and all at the lowest cost in the business. Period. |
Q. |
How much risk should I be willing to take? |
Each person and investor is of course different. One of the first and most critical things we will ascertain is exactly how much risk you should take. In general, it's our finding that most people are far more aggressive than they need to be and we truly figure out how your portfolio should be lined up to meet your goals. |
Q. |
Have you ever been charged with any breaches? |
Q. |
What is your approach to financial planning? |

Q. |
What is your approach to 401 K plan rollovers? |
My main approach is to make the entire process as seamless and pain free for the client as possible. I want them to worry about other things than what we are experts in. "Let the barber cut the hair" |
Q. |
How long does the process of rolling over a 401K plan usually take? |
It depends on the company we are dealing with. Rollovers can literally be completed in as little as 3-5 days or in some cases it can take a few weeks. Either way...the most critical thing I help with is making it seamless for the client. |
