| Business Description |
 |
I have a passion for people and photography. And that comes through in my images. Whether transforming a plumber's wife into a princess, making a newborn into an angel, reconnecting a mom with her inner and outer beauty, or capturing the special moments that spontaneously occur at major celebrations and events, I approach my work with pride, focus and an artistic eye. People often cry when they see their images. And that makes me happy because they're always tears of joy. Those tears tell me I'm doing something right. That I'm meeting my goal -- capturing the beauty that I see in everyone around me and creating beautiful images they will cherish for a lifetime. I'm fun to work with - a personable individual who was a trainer, author and painter in a past life. And my fees are mindful of the tough economy we're experiencing. Hire me as your photographer and you'll be investing in beautiful memories that will undoubtedly last you a lifetime. Blessings, Susan

| Frequently Asked Questions |
 |
| Q. |
Do you have a customer satisfaction or refund policy? |
| |
It is presumed that the client is engaging in a contract with the photographer because they share a similar aesthetic. Therefore, given the amount of time invested in a shoot and in post-production, and given that I show images during the shoot to ensure we are both on the same page, I may offer to reshoot if there is a legitimate reason for the request. |
|
| Q. |
What are your qualifications? Have you been professionally trained or certified? |
| |
I studied photography at the NY Institute of Photography. I shoot models, everyday people, babies, groups, and events - and I do it with a natural artistic eye based on years of study and expression as an artist (drawing and painting). |
|
| Q. |
What are your rates? |
| |
A complete listing of sitting fees, photos, photos on canvas, and/or special packages can be found on my website. |
|
| Q. |
Do you require a deposit? |
| |
Deposit for a package is generally $50 and holds the requested date. |
|
| Q. |
What packages do you offer? |
| |
I offer packages in portrait photography (new baby, baby's first year, boudoir, engagement, pregnancy/maternity, and the beauty/makeover), model shoots, as well as event and wedding photography. |
|
| Q. |
How many pictures do you take? |
| |
There is a wide range here. Always over 100 and sometimes over 300 depending on how long I'm shooting, and how relaxed my model(s) are. For events, particularly weddings, that number can go as high as 800 or more. |
|
| Q. |
Can I keep the negatives? |
| |
I work digitally. JPG files are available for purchase. As a professional photographer I own copyright of images unless a client decides to buy one or more files - in which case they are buying copyright privileges. |
|
| Q. |
What is your photographic style? |
| |
A review of my portfolio will immediately inform the viewer that I am quite capable of achieving a variety of looks and styles - whether high-key (white, dreamy or high fashion styles) or low-key (moody, dark, shadowy looks) - I work with the client to determine the look and feel of a portrait shoot. On events, my preferred style is photojournalistic. |
|
| Q. |
Do you provide black and white photography? |
| |
Black and white is a key part of my portfolio. I love black and whites! |
|
| Q. |
Do you use digital or film? |
| |
I shoot exclusively digital - which is great for the client - I always provide sneak peeks into the process - it helps to relax the client and also gets them excited about the final product! |
|
| Q. |
Can I see examples of your work? |
| |
My portfolio is up on my site. I am also glad to share my actual book - prints I've compiled in a bound portfolio. |
|
| Q. |
How far are you willing to travel? |
| |
I am willing to travel outside Long Island for events and portrait shoots. However, I do ask that the client cover a modest travel fee to cover my time. |
|
| Q. |
How quickly will I receive my prints? |
| |
After editing, prints will usually arrive within the week. |
|
| Q. |
What makes you different from other photographers? |
| |
I view myself as an artist. And as with all art, mine will either speak to you or it won't. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. People come to me because they fall in love with my work. And as one client shared, after meeting me you have to fall in love with me too. : ) |
|
| Q. |
What are your rates? |
| |
A complete listing of my rates can be found on my site. I make every effort to take into account the unique needs of the client. Rates are based on location, type, size and duration of event, as well as the products or items the client wants to purchase. |
|
| Q. |
Do you require a deposit? |
| |
Deposits for events range between $50 and $150 depending on the length of the event. |
|

|
| Q. |
What is your photographic style? |
| |
On events, my preferred style is photojournalistic. I enjoy capturing spontaneous and magical moments as opposed to the more traditional forced pose types of shots. Yet...I'm happy to provide both! : ) |
|
| Q. |
How many pictures do you take? |
| |
There is a wide range here. But because I love what I do - and I love taking pictures I'm always sure to take hundreds of images, which I then cull for those golden nuggets! On weddings I frequently finish up the day with 800 or more images. |
|
| Q. |
Do you provide black and white photography? |
| |
Black and white is a key part of my portfolio. I love black and whites! And because I work digitally, clients can always request that a color image be made into a black and white. |
|
| Q. |
How long does it take you to develop photos? |
| |
I usually ask for 1-2 weeks to review, edit and upload images into a client's private gallery. An accurate estimate can be provided and is based on my workload at any given time. |
|
