About Z Financial Planning, LLC |
Jim Zeberlein CFP® and Z Financial Planning, LLC have been offering comprehensive and hourly, fee-only financial planning advice, insurance consulting and investment management services that address the real-life needs of individuals and small business owners in the Salt Lake City area since 2007. If you're like most people, you have several pieces of your financial plan in place ? you pay taxes, invest in the market, have some insurance, and maybe have an estate and retirement plan. However, it's likely that each of these pieces were developed independently and at different times in your life. Our main objective is to improve your quality of life by coordinating your financial goals & needs and focusing on what is best for you. It's likely that you've never had all the pieces reviewed by someone who wasn't trying to sell you some type of financial product. Our only compensation is what you pay for our professional advice. Feel free to contact us for a no-cost, no-obligation initial consultation. Regardless of how much money you have, working together, we feel confident that we can help you address your financial concerns, and build a more secure, enjoyable future. |

Frequently Asked Questions |
Q. |
What are your qualifications? What is your education background? |
My overall objective is to improve the quality of life for every client I work with. I want them to feel that they have control over their financial life and, when they have questions, they can trust me to answer them with their best interests in mind. |
Q. |
If you are going to manage my account, will you obtain my permission every time you buy or sell something? |
Yes. However, I often work with a client?s existing advisor?s (i.e. attorney, CPA, insurance agent) to ensure that all aspects of the client?s financial life are properly coordinated and implemented.
Q. |
How many clients do you currently manage? |
As a CFP® professional & NAPFA Registered Financial Advisor,I am paid by my clients to provide financial planning on a flat fee or hourly basis. I?m not compensated through commissions, the sale of any financial product, or by any 3rd parties for any recommendations I make or help implement. I charged a very competitive annual fee for those I provide investment/wealth management services to. |
Q. |
Will you be the only person working with me? |
Q. |
Do you offer any guaranteed results? |
As a Registered Investment Advisor licensed in the state of Utah I cannot guarantee any investment results. |
Q. |
How much risk should I be willing to take? |
That depends on the goals and objectives of the individual. My approach is to customize how assets are managed with each client by clearly identifying their risk tolerance. I then create an Investment Policy Statement (IPS) that outlines the objective of the portfolio, the expected rate of return, how it will be managed, etc. The IPS is reviewed and updated annually with the client. |
Q. |
Have you ever been charged with any breaches? |
None, in over 22 years in the industry. |
Q. |
What is your approach to financial planning? |
I provide financial planning on a flat fee or hourly basis depending on what the client is looking for and the complexity of their estate. I charge an annual fee, not greater than 1%, to manage financial assets under management. I do not earn commission or receive 3rd party compensation of any kind. |
