Business Description |
Rollins Financial is a SEC registered investment advisory firm that was established in Atlanta, Georgia in 1990 by Joseph (Joe) R. Rollins. Joe along with partners Robert (Robby) E. Schultz, III and Edward (Eddie) J. Wilcox offer independent investment management services for individuals, small businesses and corporations.
Rollins Financial employs various investment strategies depending on the specific objectives of each client. Our independence insures that we are able to provide the most objective investment advice since we receive no compensation from any third parties.
Robby Schultz & Joe Rollins were both individually selected by Atlanta Magazine (October 2009) as being 2009 FIVE STAR Wealth Managers. This award was independently researched and was given to only the top 4% of financial advisors in Atlanta. Additionally, Joe Rollins was also selected as a 2008 FIVE STAR Wealth Manager by Atlanta Magazine (October 2008) in its inaugural list. Also, Eddie Wilcox was admitted to the Paladin Registry in 2009 with Paladin’s Five Star designation. Rollins Financial continues to be a resource and partner for its clients, and the awards that we receive are indicative of that hard work.
Charles Schwab & Co. and Fidelity Investments have been selected as the primary custodians for the investment accounts. Both of these custodians offer complete discount brokerage services through which thousands of mutual funds, stocks, bonds, and money market instruments are available for purchase. Our clients’ assets are never in the custody of Rollins Financial but are instead always titled solely in the owner’s name. |

Frequently Asked Questions |
 |
| Q. |
Do you have a customer satisfaction or refund policy? |
| |
Every client's satisfaction is important. If there is an issue, we work to understand our client's concerns, and we address them. We are here to be their partner in planning their financial future, and the interests of our clients always come first. |
|
| Q. |
What are your qualifications? What is your education background? |
| |
There are three partners in the firm, Joe Rollins, Robby Schultz, and Eddie Wilcox who combined have over 60 years in the financial industry. As the founding partner, Joe is a CPA/PFS, CMA, ChFC, CLU, CFS, and CEBS. Joe has a BS Degree in Accounting and Finance from Tennessee. Joe also holds dual Masters Degrees from Georgia State University in Professional Accountancy and in Taxation. |
|
| Q. |
What is your approach to financial planning? |
| |
Our mission is to provide advice that meets the specific needs of each individual client. We operate under an “open door” policy and we are readily available for frequent meetings and communication. Our qualified staff is always available to assist you, whether you need an answer to a simple question or if you have more complicated concerns. |
|
| Q. |
What services do you offer? |
| |
Along with asset management and financial planning, Rollins Financial through its sister company, Rollins & Associates, P.C. (established 1981) offers tax planning and audit services which complement our investment advisory services. This gives Rollins Financial Counseling an advantage when evaluating your overall financial situation. |
|
| Q. |
How many clients do you currently manage? |
| |
We offer independent investment management services for roughly 350 clients that are individuals, small businesses and corporations. Rollins Financial employs various investment strategies depending on the specific objective of each client. |
|
| Q. |
Will you be the only person working with me? |
| |
Any and all of the partners are involved with daily management of your accounts. We meet daily to discuss strategies and any particular issues that may need to be handled. It is this open communication between the partners that helps us come to the best solution for our clients. |
|
| Q. |
How are you compensated? How will I pay for your services? |
| |
Fees for investment advisory services are billed quarterly, in arrears. Assets are valued on the last day of the quarter. Our fee schedule is graduated and can be as low as 0.5% of the assets under management annually depending on the value of your combined accounts. |
|
| Q. |
If you are going to manage my account, will you obtain my permission every time you buy or sell something? |
| |
To better serve our clients and in order to achieve a timely transaction, Rollins will direct the investments in the account(s) without notification of the client, unless previously requested by the client. All transactions on the account(s) will be confirmed to the client directly by the custodian. We have found this streamlines the process and makes it easier and less stressful for the client. |
|
| Q. |
How much risk should I be willing to take? |
| |
We understand that each client has unique goals and objectives with different risk tolerances and investment time horizons. As financial advisors, we focus on attaining those specific goals and help facilitate reaching them. |
|
| Q. |
Have you ever been charged with any breaches? |
| |
No, there have not been any accusations or charges of any type of breach against me. |
|
| Q. |
What is your experience? How many clients do you currently manage? |
| |
I have more than 12 years of experience in the financial services industry, and with my two other partners, we have more than 60 years of combined financial experience. We offer independent investment management services for roughly 350 clients that are individuals, small businesses and corporations. |
|
| Q. |
What financial institution(s) do you represent? |
| |
We are an independent advisor. We have agreements with Schwab and Fidelity to be the custodians of our clients’ assets, but we do not represent them. We are paid solely by our clients. We do not collect commissions from selling any financial products. Registered investment advisors must disclose conflicts, file with the SEC and have a fiduciary duty to represent clients’ interest above our own. |
|
| Q. |
How do you charge for your services? |
| |
Fees for investment advisory services are billed quarterly, in arrears. Assets are valued on the last day of the quarter. Our fee schedule is graduated and can be as low as 0.5% of the assets under management annually depending on the value of your combined accounts. |
|
| Q. |
Do you provide a free initial consultation? |
| |
Yes, we welcome the opportunity to sit down with you to discuss your portfolio and plans. This first conversation lays the groundwork for an open line of communication to help you with your financial future. |
|
| Q. |
Why should I choose you as my financial advisor? |
| |
We meet with and actually listen to our clients. We review everything and give you a completely unbiased opinion since we work only for our clients (not any other third-party). We are an independent fee-only advisor, which means we are compensated by our clients only. Our arrangement is advantageous to clients because our interests are aligned with our clients’ interests and objectives. |
|
| Q. |
What is your approach to 401 K plan rollovers? |
| |
Your 401(k) is the cornerstone of your retirement, and the importance of the account cannot be overstated. We use every available tool to help you achieve your retirement goals by continually reevaluating your retirement accounts. |
|
| Q. |
How long does the process of rolling over a 401K plan usually take? |
| |
This really depends on the 401(k) plan, but most are usually completed within 2-3 weeks. Some can be done in a matter of a few days, but others can some times take months (very rare). |
|
| Q. |
What financial institutions do you represent? |
| |
We are an independent advisor. We have agreements with Schwab and Fidelity to be the custodians of our clients’ assets, but we do not represent them. We are paid solely by our clients. We do not collect commissions from selling any financial products. Registered investment advisors must disclose conflicts, file with the SEC and have a fiduciary duty to represent clients’ interest above our own. |
|
| Q. |
How many years of experience do you have? |
| |
As a firm, we have been managing assets since 1990. Joe started the firm, and as the firm grew, he brought in Robby (1998) and Eddie (1999) to form a team that has a broad range of knowledge and skills to help position our clients. |
|
| Q. |
What are your fees for this service? |
| |
Fees for investment advisory services are billed quarterly, in arrears. Assets are valued on the last day of the quarter. Our fee schedule is graduated and can be as low as 0.5% of the assets under management annually depending on the value of your combined accounts. |
|
| Q. |
Why should I roll over my 401K plan to your firm? |
| |
Everyone is different, and what works for your neighbor may not work for you. That is why we look at every client individually and build a portfolio using broadly based mutual funds that fit within your risk tolerance. |
|
| Q. |
Do you provide a free initial consultation? |
| |
Yes, we welcome the opportunity to sit down with you to discuss your portfolio and plans. This first conversation lays the groundwork for an open line of communication to help you with your financial future. |
