A Love of music and capturing life's important memories has kept us in business since 1989. Excelsior Video Service specializes in events and I can proudly say that we have produced over 500 wedding and special event video's. The beauty and emotion is what we strive to preserve. Utilizing high quality tools we produce exceptional quality video's with vibrant color and clear sound so that even after the mad rush of the event you can relive the magic over and over. All of our event video's feature post production where we add music, titles and tasteful effects so everything looks great on the completed dvd's with full motion menu's. Photo montages are also our specialty and we rent Big Screen projection equipment if you want to show your montage at the rehearsal, reception, etc.
Excelsior DJ Service has provided professional dj entertainment at hundreds of events and we want to help make every party unforgettable. A typical dj package includes a well dressed/experienced dj/mc who makes all of the necessary announcements as well as provides a wireless hand held microphone for toasts. The setup includes a 3 speaker sound system, 50,000 song music selection (client can create a playlist on our web site if desired), and light show if desired. Client's are encouraged to fill out our reception questionnaire for weddings where we get all the necessary details about how the event should go.

  If you are not satisfied with our service for any legitimate reason then we will discuss partial refund options with you. No one has requested a refund since I have owned this business.
• What are your qualifications? Have you been professionally trained or certified?
  I studied radio and television production in college so this laid the groundwork for my interest in this field.
• What are your hourly rates?
  Our average rate would be $100 per HR although there are circumstances (dates/needs) that could cause this rate to fluctuate up or down a bit.
• Do you require a deposit? What is your cancellation policy?
  Our normal deposit is $100. The deposit is not refundable since we are holding a date for your event.
• What is your experience? How many events have you done?
  I have owned and operated Excelsior DJ Service since 1989 and since that time have dj'd hundreds of events with weddings being the primary type. I have also dj'd in clubs in the past.
• Do you specialize in a specific genre of music?
  We specialize in hit songs from throughout the decades although our collection includes many "B" sides and non mainstream music as well.
• Do you take requests?
  We take requests at any event if our client does not object although we can use our judgment as to whether or not the requested song is going to work.
• Can I provide my own music?
  This is normally not necessary unless you want to hear ethnic music that is not in our collection. We do accept cd's or digital files at the event if such a need arises.
• Do you have back-up equipment in case of failure?
  Yes. Our primary sound system consists of self powered speakers so an amp failure (unlikely) would not stop the show. We also have cd's to mix in addition to computer and software and an extra mixer as well.
• Will you also be the Master of Ceremonies (MC)?
  Yes. I am comfortable making all necessary announcements including doing the "grand introductions" at receptions and all other necessary and some motivational announcements.
• What is your standard attire?
  My standard attire is a black suit and tie for weddings and whatever is appropriate for any other type of event.
• Are you insured?
  We are not presently insured to keep our rates reasonable and we have never been involved in any sort of claim or lawsuit stemming from this business.
• How are you different from other disc jockeys?
  Since I am "seasoned" in this business I have a deep understanding of popular/dance music. In addition to mixing all the music I also "beat mix" some of the music played. Our standard 4 hour rate also includes a light show OR big screen video projection set-up.
• What are your qualifications? Have you been professionally trained or certified?
  I studied radio and television production in college so this laid the groundwork for my interest in this field. I have also worked for 2 video production companies and freelanced for other outfits as well.
• What packages do you offer? What are your rates?
  Our weddings packages range between $600 and $1200. My hourly fee for capturing professional video/audio is $125 for the 1st HR and $80 for each add'l. HR.
• How much are additional copies?
  Additional dvd copies of completed weddings videos are $20 for standard and $30 for BluRay DVD.
• Do you provide copies on DVD?
  Yes. Finished DVD's feature motion menu's with scene selection menu's and color printing directly on the disc. BluRay DVD are not offered as well.
• Do you require a deposit?
  Yes. Average deposit is $200.
• How many cameras do you use?
  1-3 depending on package.
• Do you provide editing services?
  Yes. All event videos include post production editing and we also offer editing services for virtually any type of project. Editing can include trimming/rearranging scenes, adding music, titles, transitions, image effects, audio effects and encoding for multiple output formats.
• What makes you different from other videographers?
  My lengthy background in video production has given me a strong sense of "production values" which helps me to produce a quality product.
