A Sound Escape is a proffessional DJ service belonging to the MN Better Business Bureau, American DJ Association, and Global Mobile Entertainer's Association. We are also fully insured. Q.  Do you have a customer satisfaction or refund policy?
  Yes. We offer what we call a "Solid Gold" guarantee. That is, we will be setup one hour prior to your stated guest arrival time or half your money will be refunded.

Q.  What are your qualifications? Have you been professionally trained or certified?
  I was professionally trained almost ten years ago by a major DJ company in St. Paul. Experience is the best qualification anyone could ask for in this business. Fortunately for me, I have entertained thousands of guests at hundreds of events over the past decade. I attend the Mobile Beat DJ conference yearly for on going training. Training and learning never stops at A Sound Escape.

Q.  What are your hourly rates?
  Our rates range from $880 - $1330. All packages include at least 5 hours of DJ entertainment, and a fully trained professional DJ/MC. Some rates are lower depending on many different variables.

Q.  Do you require a deposit? What is your cancellation policy?
  Yes, our deposit is currently $300. Please call for more details on our cancellation policy.

  The owner, Jim, has almost a full decade of experience entertaining thousands of guests all over the Twin Cities.

Q.  Do you specialize in a specific genre of music?
  Yes. We specialize in exactly what YOU want played. A Sound Escape carries a wide variety of all the classic hits from the past as well as all the newest hits in: Modern Rock, Mainstream, Dance, R & B, Hip Hop, and Country.

Q.  Do you take requests?
  Yes. In fact, we will even setup a guest request webpage for your guests to go online and request music before the event.

Q.  Can I provide my own music?
  Yes. We prefer that you let us get it for you first. However we don't mind if you want to bring your own.

Q.  Do you have back-up equipment in case of failure?
  Yes. A Numark dual CD player and mixer is brought to every show.

Q.  Will you also be the Master of Ceremonies (MC)?
  Yes. A Sound Escape believes that MCing your event tastefully can make your event. All portions of the evening will be introduced by your DJ in a respectful manner.

Q.  What is your standard attire?
  This depends on your event and personal preference. Your DJ will come professionally dressed to your event in your choice of: Tuxedo, Suit, or Polo and Khaki's.

  Yes. A Sound Escape is fully insured by world reknown, Traveler's Insurance.

Q.  How are you different from other disc jockeys?
  Pre-planning! A Sound Escape puts an immense amount of effort into helping you plan your event. Getting the details down beforehand are what make our events fun and smoothly flowing from beginning to end. We will meet with you and your banquet venue 6 - 8 weeks before the event.

Q.  Do you specialize in a specific genre of music?
  Yes. We specialize in exactly what YOU want played. A Sound Escape carries a wide variety of all the classic hits from the past as well as all the newest hits in: Mainstream Top 40, Modern Rock, Hip Hop, Dance, R & B, and even Country.

  Yes. Requests are an integral piece in keeping guests happy at any event.

Q.  Can I provide my own music?
  Yes. We prefer to provide all the music for the event. However, if it is your wish to bring your own we will oblige.

  Yes. A back up Numark dual CD player and mixer is brought to EVERY event.
