| Business Description |
 |
DJ JOHNNY HiHAT personally SPINS TUNES FROM RAGTIME TO RAP with specialties in Big Band, Swing, Oldies, Disco, Classic Rock and Pop Dance... Johnny fades long songs to spin more hits, more often... and punctuates music with photos, handouts, and "spontaneous" sing-alongs, like "Sweet Caroline." Though an accomplished MC, yet he prefers 1-on-1 talk over mic use. His goal: "Non-Stop Music With Just Enough Voice Over." Mingles with guests... takes their requests... and measures their pleasure pulse. There's no bulky "dj coffin" between him and the dance floor; all gear is behind him, thus inviting guests into his area. HiHat carries full backup equipment and an extensive 100% CD library. His personal 5 Star Guarantee provides for up to an Extra Hour w/o charge: No Breaks... No Meals... And, No "Cold" Room. He's spinning before your first guest arrives and after your very last guest departs... "HiHat Never 'Breaksdown' Your Event!"... Comfortable with all etiquettes/protocols, Johnny is perfect for Life Celebrations, Weddings, Charity Galas, Corporate Events, Military Functions, and House Parties. He has a mobile studio in a 21'RV with power generation for equipment/lights in remote locations... Since he only books close-in dates, Johnny is the "go-to" guy for events with tight planning timelines. He's upscale, seasoned, and a lot of tasteful fun! Additionally, JOHNNY HiHAT ENTERTAINMENT is a Full Service Event Production company providing consultation, scripting, full A/V and promotion with local artist to national acts. JOHNNY HiHAT ENTERTAINMENT is associated with and represents Grammy Nominated Band, BELLEVUE CADILLAC.

| Frequently Asked Questions |
 |
| Q. |
Do you have a customer satisfaction or refund policy? |
| |
The honest answer is that I only accept a gig where your satisfaction is defined by events and action which I can control and attain. When I meet these conditions, our agreement is satisfied. For example, I will never agree to get everyone dancing at once, because I cannot control people, or even the host/ess who is also key to a party's success. Please, see my website for more. |
|
| Q. |
What are your qualifications? Have you been professionally trained or certified? |
| |
I have had professional voice and ediquette training, and have been involved with event planning through my career. |
|
| Q. |
What are your hourly rates? |
| |
I charged by an event which is based on four hours and has FIVE hours of music via my 5 Star Guarantee. After 1/2 hr after the scheduled end of an event I do have an overtime rate. As opposed to most other DJ's, I publish my fees so that everyone can see them and see that I do not opportunisitcally price events |
|
| Q. |
Do you require a deposit? What is your cancellation policy? |
| |
Yes. I request a 50% deposit. When you visit my website, you will read two important points: 1)
I only book close in dates (usually within 60 days... hence, your deposit is very short-lived. 2) Even within that time I have cancellation policies to protect both of us. |
|
| Q. |
What is your experience? How many events have you done? |
| |
I have been around music since youth. I spun music privately before publically which I have been doing for over 12 years. |
|
| Q. |
Do you specialize in a specific genre of music? |
| |
I carry music from Ragtime to Rap: Oldies, Pop, Classic Rock, Disco, Country, Blues, Cajun, Patriotic, Novelty, Spirituals, Latin, Irish, and others. I SPIN WHAT YOU WANT!
|
|
| Q. |
Do you take requests? |
| |
Yes, if that meets with the Host/ess' approval. However, even when I do, I filter the request to be certain that it fits the decorum of the event. If it does, I then sequence it into the proper mood, such that a ballad will be inserted during a slow dance period. |
|
| Q. |
Can I provide my own music? |
| |
Yes. After we discuss your event music, we make the arrangements to be certain that I bring the equipment to play the tune. For example, an old vinyl record requires a turntable which I normally do not bring. |
|
| Q. |
Do you have back-up equipment in case of failure? |
| |
Absolutely! I bring 3 and play through 2 full-powered amplifiers, so that if one fails, there is no lost time while bringing the third live. I also bring a back-up sound mixer, It is not set up since it is possible to temporarily spin directly from the CD player while the back-up mixer is brought online. Also, I have on line three CD players in case one fails. |
|
| Q. |
Will you also be the Master of Ceremonies (MC)? |
| |
Yes. The Master of Cerimony functions can range from introductions and announcements to a full range of event management, both pre-function and during the function. |
|
| Q. |
What is your standard attire? |
| |
My "standard" attire is the attire requested by the host/ess or event. Most often this is Tux and Black Tie. However, if business attire is requested I will dress in a suit or sports jacket and slack where appropriate. Themed events require costumed attire. |
|
| Q. |
Are you insured? |
| |
YES... I have both my unique 5 Star Guarantee and my Service Agreement through which I guarantee to do what is contracted. While I can guarantee to facilitate a great time, I cannot guarantee that everyone will have one. There are many factors which are outside of my control... some may not seem obvious at first, but through experience have proven to be "downers." For examples: The number of smokers that MUST LEAVE THE FUNCTION ROOM to smoke... The set up of a bar outside of the function room that will also require people to leave the function to get a drink. As I fully present my thought clear in my website, I doubt that I and my client will have difering opinions of what constitutes satisfaction BEFORE the event |
|
| Q. |
How are you different from other disc jockeys? |
| |
I am a mature DJ and bring a level of dignified fun to events. I reflect this in my music, attention to the host/ess or bride, and attention to the guests While I MC events, I prefer 1-to-1 conversations to get close to people to meet their expectations. In a 4 hour event there are less than 80 songs. I attempt to maximize every tune to deliver an exciting time. |
|
| Q. |
Do you specialize in a specific genre of music? |
| |
No. I carry a full line of music ranging from the '30's up to today including country. In this collection I carry enopugh depth to play at least one hour of solid hits in each genre. |
|
| Q. |
Do you take requests? |
| |
Absolutely! If you visit www.johnnyhihat.com you'll see a page where I discuss "taking requests." In truth, I will not accept a gig where some number of requests are not tolerated by the host/ess. Having stated this, I also must add that I work with the host/ess to determine the acceptable request categories. Some guests make legit requests, but they are not appropriate for the type of event. |
