Q.  Do you have a customer satisfaction or refund policy?
I don't expect payment until you take ownership of your pictures. If you are not satisfied with the product and I can't find a way to correct the problem you may turn down the package.

Q.  What are your qualifications? Have you been professionally trained or certified?
I started doing this as a favour to friends because "I prefer your pictures to the ones we paid for". Some of my work has won minor prizes. Besides that, no.

Q.  What packages do you offer? What are your rates?
My basic package is the "full day" wedding and reception with an album of around 200 4*6 and one 5*7 photo. Additional services are available particularly "copy rights" purchase of high quality scans and a Copyright waiver form. My prices are extremely low and rising as I get more experience and confidence. I will honour the price that is current at the time you confirm the booking.

Q.  Do you require a deposit?
No. "No deposit" is my guarantee that you will be satisfied with the work I perform. You don't pay until you accept my work.

Q.  How many pictures do you take?
When I took film I usually took about 250-300 and discarded about 50. With digital I take more and discard more because the price of failed shots is lower and I can take more "risks" - shots with low chances of being worthy. My standard package will give you at least 200 good quality pictures.

Q.  Can I keep the negatives?
I provide a "copy rights" package as an extra cost option in which you get rights to copy and print the photographs from supplied CDs.

Q.  How many weddings have you photographed?
About a dozen as of 10/04. My inexperience is what's keeping my price down. As I gain confidence and reputation my price will increase (and has already doubled since I started), however I intend to always cater to the budget market.

Q.  What is your photographic style?
Photojournalist. I follow the proceedings and provide the resulting album or book in roughly sequential order from arrival of the guests, preparation of the venue and participants through the garter/boquet ceremonies. The budget packages usually involve taking all the formals immediately after the wedding ceremony, however alternatives can be negotiated, usually without additional cost.

Q.  Do you provide black and white photography?
If required. I use digatal techniques which allow considerable versatility in converting digital to B&W with many post processing filters available which were previously only possible using expensive colored glass filters.

Q.  Do you use digital or film?
Digital. I also have a film camera for backup and can do film photography if preferred.

Q.  Can I see examples of your work?
The full content of some of my recent weddings can be viewed from my web site under the "Clients" tab.

Q.  How far are you willing to travel?
About 50 miles. Further if you want to pay expenses - but that isn't usually an issue in the budget market.

Q.  How quickly will I receive my prints?
7-10 days usually depending on how much digital manipulation they require. A web gallery for viewing and ordering prints will usually become available the following day although content and quality may change as I do additional post-processing work.

Q.  What makes you different from other photographers?
Value for money. There are better photographers than me in the $1500+ price bracket (and surprisingly a few who aren't) but I'm learning and while I'm learning I charge about half what those at my skill and quality level amongst the full time pros charge.
