Q.  Do you have a customer satisfaction or refund policy?
We communicate with you and try to understand what you want and tell you what you can expect to achieve. An educated patient is a satisfied client. We only operate on patients with realistic expectations who will be satisfied. All financial policies are explained at the initial consultation.

Q.  What are your qualifications? Are you board certified?
I am doubly board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American board of Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose and Throat). You can check your doctor at www.abms.org to be sure of certification. I am active in the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and was President of the New York Regional Society of Plastic Surgeons. I am president of the Medical Society of the State of New York.

Q.  What makes you different from other cosmetic surgeons?
I believe if full communication between patient and doctor - I tell you what is involved and what to expect, not my office manager. There is a personal approach in my office. You are not taken care of by a nurse or PA post op - I see you before, during and after your surgery. We tell you the truth - not just what you want to hear. Our patients love us.

Q.  Do you offer a free consultation?
Yes, you will meet me and have a comfortable consultation where I examine you, discuss your problem, tell you what can be done and confront any fears or worries you have. At the same meeting my patient coordinator will discuss all fees involved and we can schedule a date if you want to go ahead with your cosmetic procedure.

Q.  Do you offer financing or payment plans?
Yes and we accept most major credit cards.

Q.  Do you offer a free consultation?

At the same meeting my patient coordinator will discuss all fees involved and we can schedule a date if you want to go ahead with your cosmetic procedure.

Q.  What makes a good candidate for cosmetic procedures?
A patient with realistic expectations who wants to look and feel better is a good candidate. For liposuction you should not be more than 20% overwieght. Patients desiring breast augmentation do best with a one to two size increase. Cosmetic surgery will make you look better - it will not make you look like someone else or guarantee a better job or life.

Q.  How safe are cosmetic procedures?
Nothing in this world is free of risk; however, I make sure that your surgery will be as safe as possible. I use superb anesthesiologists, the latest equipment and have a certified, well equipped operating room and have hospital backup. You are in the best hands in our office.

Q.  What are the risks involved with aesthetic/cosmetic surgery?
All surgery carries some risk. Any time the skin is cut there is a scar - we try to hide it and in time it will fade. Bruising disappears quickly as does swelling. Complications such as bleeding and infections and anesthetic problems are rare; however, I explain what you should look for and I can be reached after hours to deal with problems.

Q.  Please describe the entire process, including pre and post surgery.
The consultation starts the process by educating you as to what I can do for you and the costs and process. At the pre-op visit, fees are paid, photos taken, prescriptions given and informed consent obtained. All questions are answered. Post-op visits are included at no charge and your progress explained.

Q.  How long do most procedures typically take?
Most cosmetic procedures take me between 1 and 2 hours to perform. Before surgery, we give you a time frame as to how long you will be in the office and when you can expect to go home. I like you to recover comfortable and go home after an hour or two in the recovery room.

Q.  Where will the surgery be performed?
If you are a good candidate, most surgery is performed in my AAAASF accredited operating suite. If hospitalization is needed or desired, I am on staff at both Lenox Hill Hospital on 77th and Lex and Manhattan Eye and Ear Hospital on 64th between 2nd and 3rd Avenues.

Q.  What kind of anesthesia will be used? How long will the anesthesia take to wear off?
I have worked with the same anesthesiologists for years; together we determine the best and safest anesthesia for you. You usually walk from the operating room table to the recovery room and nap for an hour or two until you feel well enought to go home. You must have someone to take you home.

Q.  How do you make sure there are no complications? What if there are complications?
I am a meticulous careful surgeon who utilizes the best equipment and techniques yet no one can guarantee that a complication will not occur. I inform my patients as to what can happen. If there is a problem, they know what to look for and how to get me. In my 25 years in practice, I have seen most everything and am comfortable taking care of my patients’ problems on the rare chance they occur.

Q.  How long can I expect to be out of work?
This depends on the type of surgery. Most of the time you can return to work within 3 to 7 days. If there is facial bruising, you can usually cover it with makeup within a few days and be back at work quickly. Tummy tucks and breast reductions may take longer. Each procedure and patient is different, so we discuss it before.

Q.  How long does it typically take to heal? Will there be any visible scares or bruises?
There are three stages of healing. Most of the discomfort is gone in the first few days. Then over the next 3 weeks any bruising and most swelling disappears. It then takes you body 3 to 6 months to completely heal and remodel an scarring. Any time skin is cut, a scar is left - it is a plastic surgeons art to put that scar in such a place that you don’t see it or so that it will fade and be barel

Q.  What makes a good candidate for this procedure?
This surgery corrects droopy upper eyelids and baggy lowers. Some young people have had baggy lower lids for years, this can be fixed easily. Upper eyelid hooding is also corrected.

The risks here are minor - some black and blue and bruising and a speedy recovery.

To provide the best patient safety we need to cooperate. You must give your full medical history and complete list of medications. Our operating room is certified, our anesthesiologists qualified and we take all precautions for it to be safe.

Q.  What makes you different from other cosmetic surgeons?
Years of experience and thousands of satisfied patients have given me the confidence and experience to be assured that you will get the proper treatment and should be happy with your improved appearance. My techniques have evolved over the years and are tailored to your problem. Working in New York allows me to have the variety of patients and problems to keep my skills the sharpest they can be.

Q.  What makes a good candidate for this procedure?
A good candidate for this procedure has realistic expectations. This surgery will improve the way you look. It will not get you a new job or make you a movie star. If you are happier with your new appearance then perhaps your personality will brighten up, but there is no guarantee of that. Healing takes time, don’t expect miracles – that is only in the movies. We do real surgery on real people.

  Yes

Q.  How long does this procedure typically take?
It depends on what is being done, this will be discussed at the consultation.

Then it takes up to a full year for the scars (if any) to mature and the final result to be seen. Facial make up can be worn after a few days and you return to full activities and exercise at 3 to 6 weeks.

Q.  Do you offer a free consultation?
  Yes

Q.  How long does this procedure typically take?
Depends on what is being done.

Q.  How long does it typically take to heal? Will there be any visible scares or bruises?
There are three phases of healing. The first is usually 5 – 7 days when most of the black and blue and swelling resolves. Improvement is rapid for the next 3 to 12 weeks. Then it takes up to a full year for the scars (if any) to mature and the final result to be seen. Facial make up can be worn after a few days and you return to full activities and exercise at 3 to 6 weeks.

Q.  What are your qualifications? Are you board certified?
I am doubly board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American board of Otolaryngology (ENT). You can check your doctor at www.abms.org to be sure of certification. I am active in the American Society of Plastic Surgery, The Aesthetic Society, a past President of the New York Regional Society of Plastic Surgeons. I am president of the Medical Society of the State of New Yor

Q.  Please describe the entire process, including pre and post surgery.
The consultation starts the process by finding out what you want and why. I then educating you as to what I can do for you, the costs and the process. At the pre-op visit, fees are paid, photos taken, prescriptions given and informed consent obtained. All questions are answered. Post-op visits are included at no charge and your progress explained.

Q.  Where will the surgery be performed?
Most surgery is done on an outpatient basis and is performed in my AAAASF accredited operating suite. If hospitalization is needed or desired, I am on staff at both Lenox Hill Hospital on 77th Street and Park Avenue and Manhattan Eye and Ear Hospital on 64th between 2nd and 3rd Avenues.

Q.  How safe is this procedure?
To provide the best patient safety we need to cooperate. You must give your full medical history and complete list of medications. Do not take aspirin, Advil, or Motrin before surgery (they can cause bleeding). Read the booklet I give you before surgery. Follow the post op instructions.
