J & L Catering can assist with flower arrangements, beverages and distinctive décor ranging from black-tie events to backyard barbecues. In addition, we can provide linens, silverware and place settings to make your event unique. J & L Catering believes that your guests are the most important part of any event. Leave the details to us and enjoy yourself! About the Chef Chef John Boardman has over 20 years of culinary experience. After he earned his formal culinary degree, John worked for upscale restaurants and has catered for Harvard University. In addition, John worked for Legal Seafoods, Inc., where he was a founding chef of their multi-million dollar catering division. John has also had the honor of cooking under the direction of some of the great chefs of the world, including Julia Child and Jasper White. Over the years, John has catered events for thousands of happy clients, including Former President Bill Clinton. Guests have enjoyed the unique flavors and attention to detail for which he prides himself. John’s creativity, talent and passion for food, combined with his drive to satisfy his clients, will shine through in any social event.

Do you have a customer satisfaction or refund policy? |
| |
We fully pride ourselves on making sure our customers are completely satisfied with our services. Our customers do not have to pay their balance until the day of the event and all services are completed to their satisfaction. |

What is a Personal Chef? |
| |
A personal chef is someone who caters to a small group of people, generally on a more regular basis. For example, the chef could be hired by a family to cook all or some of their meals all or some days of the week. The meals would be discussed prior to making them, according to the client's needs. |

Isn't a Personal Chef a luxury most people can't afford? |
| |
No. These days, personal chefs cater more to the clients than ever. The client can set the budget and the chef can design a menu and meals around that budget. It can be much less expensive than dining out all of the time, yet you are still served in the comfort of your home with delicious, fresh meals! |

Our costs and service depends on what our clients needs, tastes and budgets are. We can do buffet or plated dinners, drop-off platters, BBQs, brunch, and more. |

We offer all kinds of cuisines. If I had to select a specialty, I would say seafood and clambakes, just because of my 10 years as a chef and development of the catering division of Legal Seafoods. However, I also make great brunches, BBQs, gourmet food, and more. |

The client determines generally what he or she wants and consults with us. Then, the chef makes suggestions based on the client's needs. |

Yes, we provide servers. The number of servers necessary depends on the number of guests and style of event (i.e., plated vs. buffet). |

We cannot provide an average cost per person, since clients' needs vary so drastically. We would be able to do something, such as a sandwich platter, for under $10/pp. A lavish affair could be as high as $100 per person. We can accomodate anything in between, as well. |

We can provide for 1 guest. We do intimate dinners for two, and will do large events for hundreds of guests as well. |

Absolutely! You wouldn't buy a car without a test drive, and we do not expect you to hire a caterer without a tasting! Our tastings are complimentary for up to six people, and will be scheduled at your convenience. |

We need at least 48 hours to fulfill a catering order at this time. The more advance notice the better. Also, whomever gives us a deposit to reserve the date first will get that date. |

While we can provide non-alcoholic beverages, we cannot serve alcohol. However, we have bartending services with whom we work to which we can refer you. |
