Do you have a customer satisfaction or refund policy?
If you're not satisfied with your photos, I'll do a reshoot at no additional photographer's charge. -
What are your qualifications? Have you been professionally trained or certified?
With decades of experience making fine portraits for individuals, editorial, business and advertising uses, I continue to take professional development classes. In addition, I'm a member of the American Society of Media Photographers, Editorial Photographers, and the American Society of Picture Professionals. -
What are your rates?
My rates vary, depending on production needs and on the use. In general, my rates are competitive, but may not be the lowest. -
Do you require a deposit?
Our studio policy is for a 50% deposit to secure the date. -
What packages do you offer?
Since all photo needs differ, I do not have packages. I'm happy to give line-item estimates for every shoot. -
How many pictures do you take?
Far more than I think I need! Often upwards of 100 for a portrait session. This seems like a lot, but expressions change in a fraction of a second, and it takes a while for me and my subjects to get comfortable enough to allow me to show their most expressive selves. -
Can I keep the negatives?
I use digital capture, so there are no negatives. For personal portraits I do provide digital files of the selects which you can use for personal use to email family and friends, on social networking sites and the like. These files are large enough to email or for digital photo frames. -
What is your photographic style?
My style is direct and straightforward. I don't reply on tricks, but on developing rapport with my subjects so they can reveal something about themselves. -
Do you provide black and white photography?
Yes. All digital capture is in color, but I can convert anything to black and white or sepia. We do our own conversions rather than using automatic conversions, so the black and white is snappier. -
Do you use digital or film?
Digital, although I can use film if there's a particular need for it. In addition, portraits are completely retouched for prints larger than 8 X 10. -
Can I see examples of your work?
Samples are on my web site. -
How far are you willing to travel?
Anywhere in the world. -
How quickly will I receive my prints?
I usually get proofs delivered in 10 working days or less. If you're ordering entirely on line, you can order in 10 days or less. -
What makes you different from other photographers?
I'm a storyteller in pictures. A large part of my job is to make photographs that tell a story, so the viewer can see something about the portrait subject that's much, much more than just a good likeness. -
What are your rates?
My basic event rate is $250 per hour of shooting time, with a minimum of 2 hours, and no additional charge for editing, file preparation, color correction, or on-line posting. Event fees include the rights to use photos for personal, internal corporate use, and unpaid publicity. Prints, printed books, and multimedia production are available at additional cost. -
Do you require a deposit?
Our studio policy is for a 50% deposit to secure the date. -
Can I keep the negatives?
I provide color-corrected, cropped files of all select images for events. -
What is your photographic style?
I'm a storyteller in pictures. A large part of my job is to make photographs that tell a story, so whoever sees your event photos will get a complete, detailed story. Apart from all the photos you need to have (company logos, presenters, awards, and the like) I always include extra details that others often overlook, and from different points of view. -
How many pictures do you take?
Hundreds and hundreds! My job is to tell the story of your event, so I make sure I get all the "must-have" shots, along with all the little things that help tell the story. And I take enough variations to make sure nobody's blinking! -
Do you provide black and white photography?
Yes. All digital capture is in color, but I can convert anything to black and white or sepia. We do our own conversions rather than using automatic conversions, so the black and white is snappier. -

I usually take five working days to deliver color-corrected files for corporate and non-profit events. Rush delivery is possible at additional charge. -
