Q.  What are your qualifications? Have you been professionally trained or certified?
I have been a widely published professional photographer since 1990. My work includes aerials, portraits, sports, underwater, weddings, documentary, and editorial photographs. Because I have been in the business for a number of years, I am familiar with film and digital technologies.

Q.  What packages do you offer? What are your rates?
Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Rates range from $1500 to $7000. Packages may include online ordering, proof books, albums, parent folios, and more. The more expensive packages include more time and more features. If clients are interested in customizing their package and/or receiving all the digital files on DVD, that can be arranged.

Q.  Do you require a deposit?
Yes. Retainers are from $400 to $500, depending upon the package. Retainers are non-refundable within 90 days of the wedding date.

Q.  How many pictures do you take?
It would be unusual for me to take any fewer that 300 images, even for the smallest package. However, no more than 1000 will be posted online for any one event.

Q.  Can I keep the negatives?
You have the option to buy-out film negatives. But receiving the negatives is not normally requested. All packages do include an option to buy-out all the digital files.

Q.  How many weddings have you photographed?
I have shot about 80 weddings.

Q.  What is your photographic style?
I like to combine the romantic and journalistic genres to produce images that take advantage of the existing environment. I like simple and elegant. Spontaneous, yet well composed. But most importantly, it's not about what I want, but rather it's about what you want. Clients have described my work as Artistic, Classic, and Crisp.

Q.  Do you provide black and white photography?
Black and White photography is available from film or digital capture, upon request.

Q.  Do you use digital or film?
I use both, depending upon the circumstances. If I shoot film,it is in 35mm or medium format. Digital cameras that I use are 6 or 10-megapixel.

Q.  Can I see examples of your work?
Examples are available on my Web site: http://www.dfmphotography.com Or, call me for an appointment. I would enjoy the opportunity to share my work.

Q.  How far are you willing to travel?
I offer nation-wide coverage. Depending upon the package and the travel distance required, no additional travel expenses may be required.

Q.  How quickly will I receive my prints?
Proofs are usually delivered within approximately 4 weeks. Reprints are usually delivered within 3 weeks of the completion of the ordering process (it may take longer during peak season). Albums delivery varies based upon client choices and album style. Usually, albums can be delivered within 6 weeks of the client signing off on the album style, images, and layout.

Q.  What makes you different from other photographers?
DFM is an on-location specialist with a photo-journalism and advertising background. He has all the equipment required to turn any location into the optimal setting for any photograph. He loves what he does. You will have to search long and hard to find a photographer that is more dedicated and more pleasant to work with.
